State Rep. Unimpressed with Unemployment Delays

One of the men who writes the state budget says he is tired of waiting for Governor Evers to do something about Wisconsin’s unemployment backlog. State Rep. John Nygren yesterday said he’s going to introduce legislation to send money to the state’s Department of Workforce Development and require that the agency upgrade its computer system. Man Facing Charges for Killing School Girl, Injuring Sister

A northern Wisconsin man is facing charges for a wreck in February that killed a six-year-old girl and left her four-year-old sister in the hospital. Prosecutors in Waushara County yesterday filed charges against Carl Mullenix. Investigators say he passed a school bus as it was stopped and hit and killed six-year-old Maryana Kranz. Mullenix said he swerved to avoid hitting the bus. Police say he was speeding before hitting Kranz and her sister.

Marshfield Business Reports Stalking Concerns

A Marshfield business reported concerns of customer stalking.   A 47-year-old Marshfield man reported a male who has been coming into Hefko Floral Company and acting strangely when a female employee was working. The identity of the man was confirmed after viewing security footage. The female employee also confirmed his identity after seeing a picture. The business requested the man no longer be permitted on the premises.

The Chippewa Valley Regional Airport has continued to make health and safety improvements to our facilities in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The latest enhancement is the installation of bi-polar ionization equipment in the airline passenger terminal building air handlers. Teen Facing Charges for Giving Gun to Rittenhouse

A teen from Kenosha, Wisconsin faces felony charges for giving Kyle Rittenhouse the gun he used to shoot and kill two protesters in August.  Nineteen-year-old Dominick Black also drove Rittenhouse back to his home in Illinois after the shootings.  He faces two counts of giving a dangerous weapon to a minor that was used in causing death.  The men showed up armed at a protest over the shooting of Jacob Blake, who was shot in the back by a police officer as

EC Tavern Owner Facing Charges

An  Eau Claire tavern owner could be looking at four years in prison for illegal gambling. Prosecutors say Terry Luer, who owns Big T’s Saloon on 3rd Street, ran a “shake of the day” dice game. The pot, they say, was 40 thousand-dollars. It’s not clear how long the game was running, or how many people took part. Luer is facing felony charges in Eau Claire County court.
