State Rep. Unimpressed with Unemployment Delays

One of the men who writes the state budget says he is tired of waiting for Governor Evers to do something about Wisconsin’s unemployment backlog.

State Rep. John Nygren yesterday said he’s going to introduce legislation to send money to the state’s Department of Workforce Development and require that the agency upgrade its computer system. Nyrgen said Governor Evers has complained for months about the DWD backlog that has thousands of people waiting since March to have their unemployment claims processed, but has done nothing about it.

DWD originally blamed the backlog on an outdated computer system.
