Read MoreA 21-year-old Madison man is on his way to federal prison for trafficking fentanyl. Roland Scott the Third was sentenced to eight years in prison Thursday for possessing with intent to distribute more than 40 grams or more of fentanyl and maintaining a drug trafficking place. Scott pleaded guilty in February to selling heroin and fentanyl to an undercover officer in 2021.

The Syttende Mail Festival, highlighting the city’s Norwegian heritage with art, crafts, dancing performances, and traditional food opened on Friday and runs through Sunday. One change from years past is the route for today’s 20-mile run, which has started in Madison and ended in Stoughton. Read MoreA Dane County sheriff’s deputy is in the hospital after being involved in a car crash. The sheriff’s office says the deputy was hit by a drunk driver this morning on County Highway N just south of Interstate-90. The deputy suffered non-life threatening injuries. The sheriff’s office says the suspect drove off but was later found and arrested. He’s charged with OWI, hit and run, and resisting and obstructing.
