A judge will decide later this month whether the suspect can stay at the local juvenile detention center for his hearing next month. That hearing will help decide if the case is kept in juvenile court or moved to adult court. The suspect, who turned 15 in March, is accused of beating, raping, then killing Peters in April of 2022.

Currently the 17 bus goes from the downtown transfer station, to Woodman’s, to downtown Altoona, and back . The plan, according to transit officials, is to add a stop at the Hillcrest Estates mobile home park, and another at River Prairie Park. The hope is to add the stops in January.
