Lawmakers at the Wisconsin Capital are looking to get tougher on people who drive without a driver’s license in the state. Madison, Wisconsin is the most neighborly city in the U.S.  That’s according to Neighbor-dot-com’s 2023 rankings.  This year’s factors include crime rates, charitable donations, voter turnout, and volunteer work.  Minneapolis ranked second overall.  Colorado Springs, Sarasota, Florida, and Rochester, New York, rounded out the top five. 

Some Wisconsin dairy farms are using FitBits to track their cows’ eating, breathing, and other vitals.  Ag Daily reports they’re often worn as collars, and help farmers keep their dairy cows healthier and more productive.  Wisconsin has the second highest dairy industry in the nation, at 45-Billion dollars each year, and is the number one cheese producer in the U.S. The World Dairy Expo is this week, through Friday in Madison.

Vice President Kamala Harris is postponing her trip to the University of Wisconsin Madison this week because of services for US Senator Diane Feinstein who died last week.  Harris was scheduled at UW-Madison Wednesday as part of her tour of college campuses across the country, where she promotes Biden Administration policies on reproductive rights, climate action, and voting rights.  Senator Feinstein will lie in state at San Francisco City Hall beginning Wednesday. First-time enrollment is up eleven-point-four percent at UW-Madison this year, and the total enrollment exceeds 50-thousand for the first time, ever.  More than 68-thousand applications were received for this school year.  Enrollment is up at four other University of Wisconsin System schools this year, including Platteville. Whitewater, Stevens Point, and Green Bay.
