A Madison man who spent more than ten years in a locked mental health facility before being released, is now accused of sexual assault.
Police say Alfred Riley strangled and assaulted a woman in her apartment this week. The victim was able to escape through a first-floor window, and tells police she is sure Riley was going to kill her. No criminal charge has been filed against Riley yet. Dane County records show Riley sexually assaulted four women in 1986 and ’87, and another woman in 1992.
