Chippewa County’s sheriff is reminding people about how the court system works after a report of someone calling around and demanding money. The scammer’s phone number says Chippewa County Clerk, but the sheriff says the person on the other end of the phone has nothing to do with the court system.
If you get a call that you think is a scam, the sheriff says hang-up.
