In a week, Chippewa County is reporting five deaths from COVID-19. Friday, the Chippewa County Health Department reported a second death and over the weekend three more people died. There have been just over eleven-hundred total coronavirus cases reported in the county since the beginning of the pandemic. Over 100 new cases were reported in Chippewa County yesterday.

Investigators say she misused or misspent 63 thousand-dollars in donations over the past three years. Hanson is accused of accepting donations, then depositing the money into her personal account. She’s due back in court next month.
