Two of Eau Claire County’s coronavirus testing sites are closing. The Wisconsin National Guard yesterday said it is closing the testing clinics at Peace Church and the Augusta Community Center. The Guard says there are not enough people looking to get tested. The county will still offer tests of its own at several spots. Colorado Arrest Made in WI Cold Case

There is an arrest in a decades-old cold case with a tie to southeast Wisconsin. Deputies in Colorado arrested 70-year-old Alan Lee Phillips on Wednesday for the murder of two young woman back in 1982. One of those young women, Barbara “Bobbie Jo” Oberholtzer, is from Racine. Her family says they are happy to finally see justice in the case. Investigators linked Phillips to Oberholtzer’s murder through DNA and a genealogy website.

EC Plans for Return of Elementary Students in Classrooms

Eau Claire schools say just 13 elementary school kids will continue to learn from home this year. The top Democrat in the Wisconsin Assembly says the state has been played by Foxconn and is getting played again. State Rep. Gordon Hintz yesterday said he doesn’t believe anything that Foxconn says anymore. He especially doesn’t believe that Foxconn will make electric cars with Fisker here in Wisconsin. Democrats, including Governor Evers, have been skeptical and critical of Foxconn since the company signed a deal worth three-billion-dollars back in 2017.
