Parents will have the option to send their kids to Eau Claire Memorial next school year. The city’s school board last night approved an open enrollment plan. Eau Claire stopped open enrollment at Memorial in 2017 in an effort to balance enrollment at the city’s high schools. One is a four million-dollar request to hire school counselors and social workers. The other question asks taxpayers for 148 million-dollars to build a new school and improve the district’s existing buildings. Voters in Wausau rejected the questions back in the fall.
