Skies Get Friendlier Again

United Airlines is ready to give passengers more drink options.  Those mini bottles of hard liquor are coming back.  Sales will begin November 15th, just before the busy holiday travel season kicks off.  This applies to flights over 300 miles, and customers can only request one drink at a time.  Other airlines, such as Southwest and American, have said they won’t start alcohol sales until next year.

WI Lawmakers Have Abortion Legislation on Agenda

None of the pieces of abortion legislation that cleared the Wisconsin Assembly yesterday are expected to become law. Republican lawmakers approved a series of plans that include a ban on sex-selective abortions and a born alive provision. Republican state Representative William Penterman says life needs to be protected in Wisconsin.  Democrats, including state Representative Lisa Subeck, say abortion is healthcare and they want to protect healthcare. Packers Switch Stations, Look to Sell Stock

Packer fans in southeast Wisconsin will find the team on a new radio station next year. The team and iHeartMedia yesterday announced that Packer broadcasts will be on 97-point-three The Game starting next season. The Packers are leaving WTMJ radio where they’ve been for nearly a century. The move won’t change who’s calling the games, Wayne Larrivee and Larry McCarren will stay in the broadcast booth. Reports Of Clergy Abuse Continue To Be Submitted

The Wisconsin Department of Justice says there are now more than 180 reports of clergy and faith leader abuse on record in the state.  The DOJ today says 80-percent of those reports are instances of abuse with 20-percent addressing an institution’s response to the allegations.  Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul appreciates those who have come forward to provide information about clergy abuse and he hopes the reviews can bring healing to survivors.

DNR Announces No Licenses Issued

 The Department of Natural Resources announces no licenses have been issued to state hunters and trappers for the Fall wolf hunt season.  The DNR says it will continue to work towards completing a management plan to guide wolf hunt decisions.  Anyone suspecting wolves of attacking pets or livestock should contact the USDA Wildlife Services staff immediately.

Hodag Returns to Stage

The Hodag Country Festival is back this summer.  Organizers today say the 2022 festival will run from July 7th through the 10th.   Performers include Jon Pardi and Neal McCoy on July 7th and Larry Fleet, Kip Moore and Lauren Alaina on July 8th.  Sam Hunt, Clay Walker, Jo Dee Messina, Tracy Byrd and Sawyer Brown are some of the other musical acts set to perform.

Bond Set at 100K for Chippewa Falls Woman

A Chippewa Falls woman will stay in jail for now in the stabbing of her husband. A judge on Monday set Ashley Dietrich’s bond at 100 thousand-dollars. Police say she stabbed her husband in the chest during an argument back on October 15th. Prosecutors say she stabbed him with an eight-inch kitchen knife. Police say there appeared to be a history of fighting between the two.

Gavel Drops: Jury Rules Guilty in Marathon Co. Murder Case

 It’s a guilty verdict in a 15-year-old murder case in Marathon County.  A jury yesterday evening found Cindy Schulz-Juedes guilty of killing her husband back in 2006.  Police found Ken Juedes shot to death, and always considered her a person of interest.  Her lawyers say at least five other people could have killed her husband back in 2006.  Schulz-Juedes is 66-years-old, she will be sentenced at a later date.
