The UW System wants to give every high school student in the state a break on the ACT or SAT.
University leaders are asking to extend the school’s test-optional policy until the 2024-2025 school year. That policy started last year during the height of the coronavirus school closures. The extension would mean that high school sophomores and freshmen wouldn’t have to take the ACT or SAT in order to be admitted into a UW school. Regents are expected to vote on the idea later this week.
