The timeline for the Sonnentag Center is speeding-up.
The university yesterday said crews will start work on the new event center next spring, and they plan to open the doors in 2024. The new Sonnentag Center will replace the old Zorn Arena on the UW-Eau Claire campus. Chancellor Jim Schmidt says the new center will not just be for students, he says the entire community of Eau Claire will benefit. The Sonnentag family helped pave the way for the new center with a 70 million-dollar gift.
