Happy New Year, 2025 is Here

Welcome to 2025!

We’re glad you are here and thank you for starting the day-and new year-with us!

It’s New Year’s Day.

More than one-million people gathered in New York’s Times Square, and it’s now 2025.

Across the globe thousands gathered in Sydney Harbor to ring in 2025 at 8 a.m. Eastern time with a fireworks display that lasted about 15 minutes. Tokyo welcomed in the New year at 10 a.m. Eastern while Paris rang it in at 6 p.m. Eastern, followed by London an hour later.

A new generation begins in 2025. Michael Castner reports.

As far as how you might be feeling today, if it’s a slow start you likely are not alone. New Year’s Day is the clear winner for a hangover. If you experienced more than your share of merriment last night, you might be one of the millions suffering today. If that’s you, Brie Tennis has your reality. Drink up! (Probably water today, though!)

If you are planning to revamp some of your health habits this year, you could be adding more candles to your low-fat cake.

A study out of the University of Minnesota, John Hopkins University and the University of Colorado shows that physical activity is the top predictor of when you might die. Michael Castner reports.

Millions of people worldwide are expected to watch the annual Rose Parade this morning.

The new year’s tradition is returning for its 136th year, and will feature tennis icon Billie Jean King as Grand Marshall. Over 800-thousand people from across the U.S. are expected to line the streets of Pasadena to see the five-mile parade, including its famous flower-covered floats, equestrian units, marching bands and Tournament entries.

The parade kicks off at 11am Eastern and can be seen on NBC and Peacock. It will be followed by the Rose Bowl, featuring Big Ten champs the Oregon Ducks versus the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Wishing you all the best today and into all of the coming year!
