Lawmakers Tackle Child Care Rules

A package of bills unveiled by State Republican lawmakers would create new childcare slots by changing rules to the minimum number of workers allowed per kid. It would also let 16-year-olds by assistant child care teachers. The lawmakers say it would increase access to child care and lower its cost. Governor Tony Evers says the bills would reduce the quality of child care.
