Eau Claire’s city council is ready to approve its tax hike question for November.
The city council will vote tomorrow night on the million-dollar-plus referendum question. The idea is to raise taxes to pay for new police officers, firefighters, and 911 dispatchers. No one is saying yet just how much taxes will have to go up to pay for the new hires, that price tag isn’t expected until mid-August.
