Road Map to New Political Maps Gets Bumpy

The Wisconsin Supreme Court on Friday rejected Governor Evers’ request to allow him to submit new evidence in support of his map.

The U.S. Supreme Court says Evers’ map violates the Voting Rights Act by moving black voters into different districts. The governor wanted to offer testimony from an expert who disagrees with that ruling. The decision from the Wisconsin Court means the state will have to wait a little longer to see what the final political map will be. Candidates are waiting for the new map. They are supposed to run in its new districts this fall.
