The trial of Kyle Rittenhouse is underway in Kenosha with opening statements by the prosecution and defense.
The jury has heard from the prosecution that the defendant instigated a confrontation that ended with two people shot dead and another wounded. Rittenhouse, who was 17 at the time of the shootings last year, is accused of killing the two men during protests of a Kenosha police officer-involved shooting. The defense says it will present a case of self-defense.
