The badger statue will stay at the Wisconsin Capitol for at least two more years.
The Navy yesterday agreed to extend its loan of the statue. The badger on top of a ‘Forward’ shield has been outside the governor’s office for about 30 years. The Navy asked for the statue to be returned last year, commanders want to move it to a Navy museum in Virginia. The delay will give the state some time to figure out a replacement.
