WI Prepares for Covid-19 Vaccine

There’s a coronavirus vaccine summit at the White House today.  Mark Mayfield explains.

Here in our corner of the country, the plan is to give Wisconsin’s first doses of the coronavirus vaccine to healthcare workers and people in nursing homes, but just who that includes and when they will get a shot is not yet known.

The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday said Wisconsin will get 65-thousand doses of the vaccine, which includes about 50-thousand from Pfizer and 16-thousand from Moderna.

DHS Deputy Secretary Julie Willems Van Dijk says she hopes to be providing that vaccine by the end of the month. But, she says nothing is certain because they are still waiting on federal approval.
