Investigation Continues in Officer Involved Shooting

We now have more details about an officer invoved shooting.

It was on Sunday, November 22nd, at approximately 3:53 p.m., the Eau Claire Communications Center received a 911 call regarding a domestic disturbance in the 2500 block of Corona Avenue in the Town of Washington. It was reported that there was an active disturbance at the residence.

The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office, Eau Claire Police Department and Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene. While on scene Law Enforcement encountered an armed, uncooperative individual. Peaceful attempts of resolution were made including less lethal options were utilized and were ineffective. The individual was subsequently shot and ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation with the assistance of the State of Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation. A thorough investigation will be completed by experienced and independent investigators from these agencies.


Per department policy and best practice, the involved Law Enforcement staff are on administrative leave/assignment pending review of the investigation.
