WI Sees Daily Case Record, Evers Declares New State of Emergency

Governor Tony Evers is declaring a new state of emergency.

The governor today says the state can’t afford to stop mitigation efforts when it comes to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Evers is extending the public health emergency until January.  The governor is also re-issuing an emergency order requiring face masks in public places.

Wisconsin set another one day record when it comes to coronavirus cases.  Health officials today confirmed nearly eight-thousand cases in a 24-hour period.

That’s about 900 more cases than reported on Tuesday.  There were 52 additional deaths reported today, bringing the death toll over 27-hundred-and-90 residents.  The positivity rate statewide today averaged about 40-percent.
