On the other side of an active Election Day, we take a look at the results going forward. It will be a second term for Tony Evers. He beat Republican Tim Michels, taking about 51-percent of the vote. The city’s referendum will raise about a million-and-a-half dollars a year to hire more people at city hall. The school district’s referendum will raise taxes by almost 100 million-dollars for building improvements and new hires. Both questions got about 60 percent of the vote.

Ojibwe tribal hunters will also have a chance to harvest elk this season. The DNR says the application period for next year’s Elk hunt is set to open in March.

The town is one of the few dry communities left in Wisconsin. The hope is to open a tap room at Licks Orchard. The vote, however, is advisory only. Town leaders will have to vote again if they want to allow for alcohol sales.
