Capitol City Votes Sanctuary City

Fireworks Safety Tips Make a Bang

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says nearly 100 people across the state visited an emergency room with a fireworks-related injury in 2019; Twenty five percent of those injuries involved children. Additionally, the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission finds a 50 percent increase in injuries and deaths from fireworks-related incidents in 2020 compared to 2019. Traffic Adjusted For Blue Ox Festival

To accommodate traffic control for the Blue Ox Music Festival, Crescent Avenue between North Town Hall Road and Eagle Lane will be closed beginning at 6:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 22nd. The road will reopen at 10:00 P.M. Heavy traffic for the music festival is expected on Crescent Avenue. Commuters who usually use Crescent Avenue may prefer to use an alternate route. The Blue Ox Music Festival runs from Thursday, June 22nd through Saturday, June 24th.

Tourism Breaks Records in Our Home State

High Speed Internet Travels to Dunn Co.

An additional 500 residences and businesses in northern Dunn County will have access to high-speed broadband services from Nextgen Broadband next year after the company’s grant application was approved recently by the state Public Service Commission.  The PSC’s Wisconsin Broadband Office announced that Nextgen Broadband, a subsidiary of Clear Lake Telephone Co., will receive $1.33 million to bring fiber broadband access to 557 residences and seven businesses in the towns of New Haven and Tiffany in Dunn County.  The company

 Attorneys hired by Eau Claire County spent last night’s county board meeting trying to explain the damning investigation into the county’s Department of Human Services. Lawmakers Look for Pollinator Protections
