There is a warning from Wisconsin’s Department of Transportation about the coming shorter days. The deer are still not following the crossing signs and are moving all over the roads. (A classic Wisconsin joke, eh?) Wis-DOT superintendent Tim Carnahan said the morning and evening commutes will be a little more difficult as the days get shorter. The winter outlook from the National Energy Assistance Directors Association estimates electric heat will cost one-point-two percent more than last winter, while propane is expected to be four-point-two percent higher, and heating oil will be up eight-point-seven percent.
