FBI Shares Update on UW Bombing Case

The FBI is sharing new, aged pictures of the suspect in the bombing at UW-Madison back in 1970.  The FBI yesterday unveiled pictures of what they think Leo Frederick Burt looks like today.  Burt was the only one of four suspects in the bombing at Sterling Hall to escape arrest.  That bombing, part of a Vietnam War protest, killed a man and injured four others.  Burt has been on the run for more than 50 years.  There’s still a 150-thousand

Police in Milwaukee say a street race led to the hit-and-run of an 11-year-old boy last weekend. Investigators yesterday released their report into 11-year-old Tyrone Reese Junior’s death. Detectives say two cars were racing down Capitol Avenue last Sunday, when they both turned on to Fond du Lac. Wisconsin’s largest school choice group says new numbers show choice schools are a better bang for the buck. School Choice Wisconsin this week released a new look at spending and test scores that shows choice schools get better results for less money. UW Madison Ranks High

A new list says the University of Wisconsin-Madison is the second best public university in the country. The new Washington Monthly list also ranks UW-Madison as the 11th-best university overall. Some Folks Not “Leaping” On Board with Lambeau Development

Some folks are upset with the plan for a new hotel near Lambeau Field.  Dozens of people turned out at a public meeting in Ashwaubenon yesterday to oppose the design for the new Cambria Hotel & Suites.  Planners want to build the new hotel on Oneida Street, just a few blocks south of the stadium.  Neighbors say the hotel will be too tall, potentially have too many people, and force some neighbors out.  The plans call for a 100-room hotel

Bucky Gets a Bobble

There is a new item for Badgers fans to collect! The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled an officially licensed, limited-edition Wisconsin Badgers Bucky Badger Jump Around Bobblehead. The release is in conjunction with the start of the 2023-24 school year and Wisconsin’s first football game, which is on Saturday against Buffalo in Madison. The unique bobblehead also bobbles at the feet in addition to the bobbling head.
