RUSK COUNTY SHOOTING

Authorities are investigating a shooting in Rusk County.  That happened Friday evening in the Town of Willard.  Investigators accused James Wulf of shooting Daniel DeSantis after DeSantis got aggressive when asked to leave the property they were on. He was taken to the hospital in Eau Claire with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities say the break-ins happened in the residential area west of Johnson Fieldhouse-and there is some incentive to cough up any info you might have-aside from just doing THE RIGHT THING…an anonymous donor is offering a five thousand dollar reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest of whoever is involved with the break-ins.

A LITTER BIT HAIRY

A situation on I-94 was a LITTER bit scary after a semi carrying kitty litter and dog food caught fire on I-94 in Jackson County. That happened Tuesday afternoon and Fire officials say the semi was fully engulfed when crews arrived. The driver reported hearing a pop before pulling over and seeing fire under the engine compartment hood. He escaped unharmed.

HALF MOON BEACH: FULLY CLOSED

Independence day is OPEN, but just a heads up that Half Moon Lake is closed. Even though it’s the Fourth of July, the Eau Claire City-County Health Department closed the beach due to unsafe bacteria.  Those wishing to celebrate outdoors can still do so at the other Eau Claire County beaches, which are open.  Half Moon Lake is expected to be closed until at least Friday.

THE WHEELS ON THE BUS …

The wheels on the bus go round and round for a little less now, as a new fare option is available for low-income Eau Claire residents. The cost for the bus is only one-50 per ride or 45 dollars a month.  To qualify, passengers must have a combined household income at or below 185 percent of the Federal Poverty Level.  The first step is to submit an Income-Qualifying Fare Verification Form to the Transit Administrative Office.
