There are a lot of unanswered questions about a million-and-a-half dollars in accounting errors at Eau Claire County’s Department of Human Services. Sheriff Ron Cramer says his office is investigating. County Board member Mark Beckfield says there have been three thefts and accounting errors of over one million-dollars. He says taxpayers deserve to know what is going on.

The state today reports 478 new cases, sending the seven day average down to 760 cases a day. The positivity rate also dropped a half-a-percent from Tuesday to four-point-eight-percent. A Wisconsin appeals court upheld the conviction of Morgan Geyser today who was 12-years-old in 2014 when she and Anissa Weier lured their friend Payton Leutner into the woods in Waukesha and stabbed her 19 times. Leutner was left for dead, but managed to survive. The motive for the attack was to win the approval of a fictional horror character named Slender Man.

Read MoreAn Eau Claire man is facing charges for sexually assaulting a five-year-old boy. A criminal complaint shows 25-year-old Tylar Hoffman admitted to the assault after failing a polygraph test. The case was first opened last December, but didn’t proceed until the five-year old drew a picture of the incident at day care. Hoffman is due back in court in October.
