Read MoreThe Wisconsin state capitol building reopens to the general public this week. Governor Tony Evers office announced yesterday that the building will open after being closed due to the Governor’s COVID-19 restrictions. The public is to be allowed back inside the building from 8:00-a.m. to 4:30-p.m. beginning this coming Monday. There will be no evening or weekend hours. Only lawmakers and staffers have used the building while members of the public have not been allowed inside since March of last year.

A Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources statement says as of yesterday new rules apply for those who use state parks. The rules changes include the opening up of access to playground equipment and observation towers and capacity increases for open air shelters, amphitheaters and organized group events. Sue Danielson has more: The Department of Natural Resources says the current risk is high in all but seven of Wisconsin’s 72 counties and the remaining areas are classified as a moderate risk. All of southern Wisconsin is included in the high-risk category. The DNR says the warmest weekend of the year is upcoming and they expect critical fire conditions so they are asking Wisconsinites to remain vigilant.
