Wisconsin’s latest round of storms were bad enough to get the governor to declare an emergency. Governor Evers yesterday called for a state of emergency. The order clears the way for the state to help any local community hit by high winds or tornadoes. The state of emergency means the Wisconsin National Guard could even be called-up. Murder Motive Traced to $600 Debt

Investigators in La Crosse County say the three people killed in last week’s triple murder died over a 600-dollar debt. Investigators yesterday said they have both of the suspects in last Friday’s triple homicide in custody. Suspect Khamthaneth Rattanasack was arrested in Portage County late Wednesday, and suspect Nya Thao was arrested in Wausau yesterday. Investigators say a woman who was with the victims tipped them off to the suspects and also helped fill-in the gaps in the investigation. The

Search Continues on WI River

Crews are expected to be back out on the Wisconsin River today as they search for a missing man. Rescuers in the village of Maine in Marathon County say a 60-year-old man went missing when his boat capsized yesterday afternoon. Crews were out on the river for about seven hours yesterday. They say the search is difficult because the river is high and fast.

Wisconsin’s Republicans in Washington D.C. want to know how much of Wisconsin’s unemployment payments have gone to scammers. Wisconsin’s governor and the top Republican in the state Assembly are both talking about helping people get back to work, but their approaches couldn’t be more different. Murder Suspects in Custody

Two murder suspects are in custody in La Crosse County.  The Sheriff’s Office says Nya Thao and Khamthanet  Rattanasack were arrested in two different locations.  Thao was taken into custody in Wausau and Rattanasack was arrested in Amherst by Portage County Police.  The two men are accused killing three victims on Friday and dumping their bodies at the Milestone Quarry in the Town of Hamilton.
