WI Farmland Worth More “Moola”

Wisconsin’s farmland is more valuable than a year ago. The  Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago says a survey of over 150 Midwestern farm banks shows the value for farmland in the state is up 10 percent over 2020’s prices. Strong commodity prices, and non-farm buyers are helping to drive the increase in farmland values.

WI DNR Water Discussion On Tap

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is closing in on new regulations to limit the amount of toxic chemicals in drinking water.  The DNR has been working to make sure fluorinated compounds stay out of Wisconsin’s water.  The DNR will discuss one of two drinking water regulations at a public hearing Wednesday.  Another hearing will take place December 10th.

Madison is being named the top city in the country for single people.  WalletHub says Madison ranks 60th in economics, 20th in fun and recreation, and 2nd in dating opportunities among over 180 U.S. cities.  Other cities in the top five include Seattle, Portland, Denver, and Austin.

Boyfriend Of Missing WI Woman Charged In Illinois

The boyfriend of a missing southern Wisconsin woman is in jail in Illinois, but not for her disappearance. Deputies in Stephenson County, Illinois say Derek Hammer is being held on 200 thousand-dollars bond on a marijuana possession charge. Investigators in Green County, Wisconsin want to know if Hammer had anything to do with the disappearance of Melissa Trumpy. She’s been missing since Halloween. Flags Lowered to Honor WI Trooper

Gov. Evers today signed Executive Order #143 ordering the flags of the United States and the state of Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff tomorrow, Tues., Nov. 30, 2021, as a mark of respect for Wisconsin State Patrol Master Trooper Daniel Stainbrook, who lost his life in the line of duty due to complications from contracting COVID-19.

Waukesha Unites in Blue

We now know that seven kids remain in the hospital following Waukesha’s parade tragedy, and none of them are in critical condition. Doctors at Children’s Hospital delivered that news yesterday. Two kids were released over the weekend, one on Saturday and the other yesterday. At one point 16 kids were in the hospital. Things in Waukesha came to a halt yesterday afternoon, and parts of the city turned blue to remember those hurt or killed in last week’s parade tragedy.

Remains May Be Those of Missing WI Woman

The search for a missing northwestern Wisconsin mother of four may be over. The private detective agency hired by Ashley Miller’s family says they found her remains Saturday in Minnesota. Miller has been missing since late September. The detective agency says it found her remains near Hinckley, Minnesota. An autopsy is scheduled. No one is guessing how Miller, who is from Grantsburg, Wisconsin, died.

WI Coronavirus Cases Tick Up

Wisconsin’s coronavirus map is looking a lot more red. The state’s Department of Health Services last week said just over 40 percent of the state’s 72 counties are reporting critically high coronavirus activity. That’s a sharp increase since the beginning of the month. DHS says 18 counties are seeing their coronavirus activity growing, while most of the rest of the state is staying about the same. Waukesha Plans Observances a Week After Tragedy
