A potentially dangerous chemical is found in city wells in Wausau. Wausau Public Works says PFAS was recently detected in city wells during voluntary testing. Public Works says the levels are above the Wisconsin Department of Health Services standards. However local health leaders aren’t recommending people stop drinking city water altogether. Health leaders say prolonged exposure to PFAS could lead to health problems.
