Pay at the Pump, Stay at the Pump

It will soon be pre-pay or pay at the pump for Kwik Trip customers. The company yesterday said it is ending the pay inside option for drivers as of January 3rd. Kwik Trip says the move is designed to improve customer service by freeing clerks from having to constantly watch the gas pumps. Kwik Trip says drivers who use the truckers’ only diesel pumps will still have the option to pay inside.

Deadly School Shooting in Michigan

Three students have been shot and killed at a Michigan high school.  Police say the shooter was a 15-year-old student who opened fire today at Oxford High School in Oxford, Michigan.  The school is roughly 30 miles north of Detroit.  Oakland County Undersheriff Mike McCabe adds six people are wounded, including a teacher.

Fond du Lac Co. Man Charged With Election Fraud

A man is charged with election fraud in Fond du Lac County.  District Attorney Eric Toney says Anthony Van Egtern of Malone is accused of illegally voting in the 2020 election.  Van Egtern was on probation for a drug charge which made him ineligible to vote.  He could face up to three-and-a-half years in prison if convicted.

Deer Harvest Down in WI

The numbers for the deer harvest from Wisconsin’s nine-day hunt are down nearly eight-percent from 2020.  The Wisconsin DNR says the hunt produced just over one-percent fewer antlered deer and about 13-percent fewer antlerless deer.  In total about 175-thousand-670 deer were harvested.

Blooming Grove Murder Suspect Has Lengthy Criminal History

The suspect in Blooming Grove’s deadly shooting was out of jail despite a history or bail jump and seven open felony cases. The Dane County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect in Sunday’s shooting at 29-year-old Trevon Adams. Investigators say he shot and killed a man Sunday night at the Kwik Trip on Milwaukee Street. The sheriff says Adams was facing seven felony charges prior to his arrest, he’s now facing two more. Prosecutors are expected to file formal homicide charges

Bond Set at $100K After Deadly Buggy Crash

The suspect in last week’s deadly buggy wreck in Taylor County is looking at a six-figure bond. A judge in Medford yesterday set 35-year-old Skyler Opelt’s bond at 100 thousand-dollars. Investigators say he was high when he smashed into the back of a buggy full of kids last Wednesday. Nine people went to the hospital, one of them died. Opelt is due back in court in January.

Homicide Charge Added, Memorial Services Continue

It’s now six counts of homicide for the deaths at Waukesha’s Christmas Parade. Prosecutors filed the additional count against Darrell Brooks yesterday. The charge covers the death of eight-year-old Jackson Sparks. Brooks was already facing a slew of homicide and other charges. Police say he plowed-through the parade crowd last week.
