A potentially dangerous chemical is found in city wells in Wausau.  Wausau Public Works says PFAS was recently detected in city wells during voluntary testing.  Public Works says the levels are above the Wisconsin Department of Health Services standards.  However local health leaders aren’t recommending people stop drinking city water altogether.  Health leaders say prolonged exposure to PFAS could lead to health problems.

A former electrician from Sun Prairie is headed to federal prison for a year-and-a-half for tax fraud.  Joseph Kott is accused of failing to pay over 622-thousand dollars in taxes from 2014 to 2018.  Kott will serve two years of supervised release after his prison term and pay over 622-thousand dollars in restitution.

 University of Wisconsin Health is requiring all workers and volunteers to get the coronavirus vaccine booster.   Wisconsin Health says boosters will be required by May 2nd.  Wisconsin Health says anyone who doesn’t have the booster by then could be fired.  About 96 percent of workers have the vaccine.

The family of two murdered Shawano brothers will have to wait another year to see if they get justice.  A judge on Monday pushed back Joey Nelson’s trial for the murders of Nicholas and Justin Diemel until next March.  Nelson’s lawyers say he needs a mental evaluation before trial.  The trial was supposed to start in June.  Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in the case.  They say Nelson killed the brothers over a bad cattle deal, then burned or

Everyone is alright after a school bus crash in Eau Claire yesterday afternoon.  North High School sent out a message yesterday afternoon saying one of its buses was involved in a minor accident at Old Wells Road and the North Crossing.  No students were injured.  The school says a second bus was sent to make sure kids got home as quickly as possible.

 A Madison man who was angry over having his snowblower stolen is now looking at charges for what he did with that anger.  Madison Police say 29-year-old Corey Sanderson t-boned a car full of people who had just stolen his snowblower on Monday night. A man and a woman in the car were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.  Sanderson was arrested.  He’s looking at reckless endangerment charges.  The man and the woman could be charged with theft.
