Wisconsin’s state superintendent of schools is stepping into the debate over lessons on race and LGBTQ issues. Superintendent Jill Underly yesterday released an op-ed that defended school policies on gender and race as creating safe spaces and saving lives. The legislature yesterday announced a series of summer hearings, including one on the guard’s misconduct procedures. Lawmakers say the plan is to ‘study’ the issue.
