Deadly Motorcycle Crash in Buffalo Co.

On Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at approximately 3:02 pm, the Buffalo County Communications Center received a report of a three-vehicle crash on State Highway 25 in the County of Buffalo. The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) yesterday announced the award of over $20 million in Project Growth grants to 28 cross-sector community teams and over 100 businesses to support Wisconsin’s child care system. WI Mayor Behind Wheel Of New Plan For Drivers Education

Milwaukee’s mayor wants to offer universal Drivers’ Education in the city, and he wants insurance companies to pay for it. Mayor Cavalier Johnson yesterday said his proposal to add free Drivers’ Ed classes at the city’s rec department would cost two million-dollars. Johnson wants State Farm, American Family Insurance, and Progressive to pick-up the costs. The mayor says the program could get licenses for as many as six thousand young drivers per-year. WI DHS Reports Coronavirus Deaths Top 13k

Wisconsin has hit another grim coronavirus milestone. The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday said Wisconsin topped 13 thousand coronavirus deaths. Wisconsin reported its first coronavirus death back in March of 2020. DHS says over nine thousand deaths, or 65 percent, of the state’s deaths have come in people over 70-years-old. By comparison, there are just 15 reported deaths in people under 19-years-old.

Charges Filed in Stabbing Incident

Eau Claire County prosecutors have filed formal charges in last week’s stabbing at The Regency Inn. The D.A. yesterday filed battery, reckless endangerment, and weapons charges against 38-year-old Samuel Thornton. Police say he stabbed a man in the chest after a fight. Thornton was wanted at the time of the stabbing, prosecutors also charged him with bail jumping. He’s being held on a five thousand-dollar cash bond.

Chippewa Co. Woman Sentenced for Deadly Crash

It’s six months in jail for a Chippewa County woman for a deadly 2017 crash. A judge sentenced 23-year-old Miranda Miller to jail time and three-years probation for the crash. Police say Miller ran a stop sign in the Town of Colburn in July of 2017, crashing into and killing 46-year-old Jeremy Goodwin. Miller told police that she was looking at her phone at the time of the wreck.

Reward Offered in Office Firebombing

The head of Madison’s pro-life group says city police and the governor don’t seem to be interested in solving the firebombing at their office.  Wisconsin Family Action’s Julaine Appling yesterday offered a 15 hundred-dollar reward for information in the case. Appling says she’s offering the money to help move the investigation along. She said it’s ‘perplexing’ that the group Jane’s Revenge took credit for the firebombing and made other threats, yet there are no persons of interest in the case. Appling

Miriam Carre is Doctor Beth Potter and Robin Carre’s daughter, she was also the girlfriend of the man who shot and killed them back in 2020.
