Deadly Motorcycle Crash in Buffalo Co.

On Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at approximately 3:02 pm, the Buffalo County Communications Center received a report of a three-vehicle crash on State Highway 25 in the County of Buffalo. The location of the crash was on the bridge leading to Wabasha, MN.

Upon arrival first responders found that a North bound vehicle had impacted into a South bound motorcycle on Highway 25. As a result of the crash, a fellow motorcycle had crashed as well in an attempt to avoid the collision. The cycles were traveling  together at the time of the incident. The vehicles involved were identified as a 05 Dodge Magnum which had been operated by Jacqueline Britt., of Alama. The two motorcycles were a 2010 Harley Davidson operated by  Douglas Hildebrandt  and a 2006 Harley Davidson operated by Mark Machart, both of Redwood Falls, MN.

Crash investigation indicated that Britt had deviated  from the northbound lane of State Highway 25 and entered the southbound lane prior to impacting into  Hildebrant head on. Life saving measures were performed by first responders on Hildebrandt and he was  transported to a local area hospital where he had succumbed to his injuries. Machart was evaluated by EMS however did not require medical treatment. Britt was evaluated and transported by ground ambulance for not life-threating injuries to a local area hospital.

This incident remains under investigation
