EVERS PROMISES VETO ON ABORTION PROPOSALS

Republican lawmakers in Madison can go ahead and vote on plans to defund Planned Parenthood, stop abortions based on gender or birth defects, and write new rules for babies who survive abortions because

Governor Tony Evers says he’ll veto them all.

Evers tweeted yesterday that he won’t sign any of the handful of abortion proposals making the rounds at the WisconsinCapitol into law.  The governor says lawmakers shouldn’t force their healthcare decisions on the women of Wisconsin.

In related news, dozens of people from west-central Wisconsin are protesting the restrictive abortion laws being passed across the country.  Reports say more than 30 people gathered outside the federal courthouse in Eau Claire yesterday afternoon to speak out against those laws.  The rally was apart of the nation-wide stop the ban rallies that are taking place all over the country.
