An eight-year-old child was killed after being struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon in Taylor County.
The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office says the crash was reported shortly after 3 p.m. on County Road H near Polley Lane in the Town of Aurora.
A preliminary investigation indicates the child had been checking a mailbox on the east side of the road and was attempting to cross back to the west side when the child was struck by a northbound vehicle.
The child died from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver and other occupants of the vehicle were not injured.
The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate with assistance from the Wisconsin State Patrol. No additional information is being released at this time.
