One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Highway 63 near Shell Lake.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says the crash happened shortly after 7 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 63 and County Road J in Washburn County.
Investigators say a northbound semi had stopped to make a westbound turn onto County Road J when a passenger car struck the rear of the semi’s trailer.
Emergency crews extricated the driver of the car and provided aid, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicles involved were a 2001 Buick Park Avenue and a 2024 Freightliner semi.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash with assistance from the Washburn County Sheriff’s Office.
