UW-Eau Claire researchers are conducting tests on classroom ventilation in an effort to control the transmission of COVID-19 on campus this fall.
Two professors and a group of students utilized large industrial fans and dry ice to measure carbon dioxide levels in classrooms inside Schneider Hall Wednesday. This allowed the team to simulate a classroom full of people exhaling carbon dioxide while breathing and the rate at which the air turns over into heightened levels of CO2. The group’s hope is to track which rooms on campus might need better ventilation systems installed.
