A Sparta man is in custody after a woman reported her husband strangled her.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office first responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in April, with the victim saying her husband, Randal Cuntiz, tried to kill her. Deputies observed red marks across her neck and bruising on her left temple. Cuntiz was arrested on multiple charges, including attempted first degree intentional homicide. His initial court appearance is scheduled for June 1st.
