Tornado, Storm Clean Up Continues

The National Weather Service is confirming the touchdown of three tornadoes in Western Wisconsin on Friday. The first, an EF-3 storm, touched down in Buffalo County at around 3:27 p.m. Separate EF-1 twisters touched down in Trempealeau County at 4:08 p.m. and at 4:19 p.m. Damage is still being surveyed.

That adds to a count across the state as more than a dozen tornadoes were confirmed in southeast Wisconsin during last week’s severe weather.  The National Weather Service confirmed another seven tornadoes in Walworth, Racine, and Waukesha counties on Friday, bringing the total for the region to 14.  The tornadoes were just part of the chaos that ripped through the state last week, joining heavy rain and strong winds that flooded neighborhoods and toppled trees.  Governor Tony Evers declared a state of emergency as a result.
