The sheriff in Monroe County says the driver responsible for last week’s deadly crash was likely high at the time.
The sheriff’s office says 39-year-old Kristoffer Cattle of Tomah crashed his pickup truck into another car Thursday morning on Highway A. The driver in that other car died on the scene, a passenger in the other car was flown to the hospital in critical condition. Deputies say Cattle crossed the centerline, and hit the other car head-on. He’d been spotted just a few hours before in Tomah, driving erratically. Cattle is now facing reckless homicide and OWI charges.
