Leinenkugel’s Showdown Returns

Disc golf enthusiasts are gearing up for a thrilling weekend as the Leinenkugel’s Throwdown returns for its second edition on April 13th and 14th. Hosted at the picturesque Leinenkugel’s Disc Golf Course, nestled within the scenic expanse of Casper Park, this event promises excitement for both players and spectators alike.

“It’s fantastic to see the sport of disc golf flourishing, offering accessibility and affordability to players of all levels. Our tournament caters to a diverse range of participants, from seasoned professionals to eager amateurs, fostering a vibrant disc golf community throughout the upper Midwest region.”

Designed by the esteemed Cale Leiviska in collaboration with Airborn Disc Golf, the Leinenkugel’s Disc Golf Course has quickly gained recognition as a premier destination for disc golf aficionados since its inauguration in 2023. Disc golf, a sport also affectionately known as Frisbee golf, entails players propelling discs towards designated targets on a uniquely crafted course. Much like traditional golf, the objective is to complete each hole with as few throws as possible, navigating varied terrain and obstacles along the way. The Leinenkugel’s course offers a unique blend of challenge and enjoyment, attracting top-tier professionals and enthusiastic amateurs alike.

The forthcoming tournament, sanctioned by the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA), has drawn a roster of 150 competitors eager to test their skills against the course’s demanding layout. Participants across multiple divisions will vie for victory, with each division slated to play 21 holes per day. The competitor with the lowest combined score over the two days will claim a share of the prize purse.

“The Leinenkugel’s course at Casper Park presents an exhilarating challenge that truly tests the mettle of players,” remarked Leiviska, acclaimed course designer and tournament director. “It’s fantastic to see the sport of disc golf flourishing, offering accessibility and affordability to players of all levels. Our tournament caters to a diverse range of participants, from seasoned professionals to eager amateurs, fostering a vibrant disc golf community throughout the upper Midwest region.” Spectators are encouraged to view the tournament and entrance is free.
