Student Attack Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

The Madison man accused of attacking and severely injuring a University of Wisconsin student is pleading not guilty.

Brandon Thompson is charged with first-degree sexual assault, reckless injury, strangulation, and suffocation. Prosecutors say they think he chose the woman at random, and DNA evidence links him to the September assault. Thompson’s next court appearance is scheduled for December first. The victim has a traumatic brain injury and broken bones.
