A woman whose death is under investigation in Eau Claire County has been identified as 77-year-old Diane Berthold.
The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office says right now, her death — while considered suspicious — appears to be an isolated incident and poses no threat to the community. Deputies had responded to the home on McElroy Court in the Town of Washington last Thursday night, where they found Berthold’s body and also an 81-year-old man who they say was in need of medical care.
