Equipment Violation Leads To 2nd OWI

An equipment violation leads to an OWI arrest.

Heather Buder, 36 years of age, from Alma Center has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Eau Claire Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 2nd offense, with one child in the vehicle under the age of 16.

On November 19, 2022, at approximately 5:16 pm, a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper initiated a traffic stop on Broadway Street in the City of Blair for an equipment violation. Upon contact with the vehicle and the driver, the trooper observed signs of impairment, and a subsequent investigation including standardized field sobriety tests was conducted. The driver, Heather Buder, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence 2nd offense with a minor in the vehicle. Ms. Buder was transported to a local hospital for an evidentiary test and then to the Trempealeau County Jail. The 11-month-year-old child was released to an adult family member.
