Lake Hallie Traffic Stop Leads to Meth Bust

On February 17th, 2022, at approximately 10:35 pm, a Lake Hallie Police Officer stopped a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign and suspended registration in the parking lot of the Badger Motel, 2997 S. Prairie View Rd, Lake Hallie.

The driver of the vehicle, 33 year old Ruth Wallace, from Boyceville, was the registered owner of
the vehicle and was on active probation. Wallace granted consent to search her vehicle which
resulted in the seizure of suspected methamphetamine concealed inside the vehicle. Officers
learned the passenger, 61 year old Douglas Wulf, from Chippewa Falls, had an active warrant for
Failure to Appear for Possession of Methamphetamine from Chippewa County. Both Wallace
and Wulf were arrested for various violations. Additional suspected methamphetamine was
found on Wulf’s person.


Wallace was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and a Department of Corrections
probation violation along with citations for various traffic violations. Wulf was arrested for the
outstanding Failure to Appear warrant, possession of methamphetamine and two counts of
felony bail jumping.
