The Alliant Energy Center is home to the World Dairy Expo.
The World Dairy Expo brings thousands of cows to Madison each year. Those cows bring dairymen to the city, and they need hotel rooms. That’s the link between tourism and the three-million-dollars in state tourism grant money that is going to the Alliant Center for heating and cooling upgrades. Dane County Executive Joe Parisi yesterday announced the new grant money. The county says the work should begin this year, and take about a year to complete.
