A meat processing company is scrambling to get back on track after a fire destroyed their building and equipment.
On Thursday flames broke out in a building used by Wisconsin River Meats on County Road HH in Mauston. The fire destroyed the building used as a storefront and where the company’s meat processing equipment was operated.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Company staffers say another meat processor in Cadott is helping with Wisconsin River Meats’ orders for the time being.
