Red Cross Assisting Families After Alma Fire

On Friday, January 7, 2022 at about 12:30PM the Buffalo County Communications Center received a call of a structure fire at 103 North 2nd Street in the City of Alma. This structure is a multi-family dwelling. Upon arrival of law enforcement from the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office and Alma Police Department all occupants were evacuated as well as neighbors on both sides of the residence. 

The fire is still being battled by ten fire departments to include Alma, Nelson, Tri-Community, 

Waumandee-Montana-Lincoln, Mondovi, Pepin, Durand, Wabasha, Fountain City and Kellogg Fire Departments. Also assisting at the scene was the Western Buffalo County Ambulance Service, Scenic Valley Ambulance Service, and Buffalo County Highway Department. 

This remains an active fire currently, all occupants have reportedly been accounted for with no injuries at this time. The Red Cross will be assisting the displaced families.
